L' obscurité is a meditation on the fall of the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran. Using the collapse of one world and the transition to the next as a backdrop, L' obscurité is focused on the unending search for the world that cannot be, both in political and personal terms.
In any revolutionary transfer of power, there is a darkness underpinning the joy. A knowledge that the creation will consume its creator and the new world might be worse than the old. All around this margin lies the gulf, the darkness, but darkness isn’t all bad though. At the very least it helps us recognize the light.
