Inaka is a meditation on the writings of Murray Bookchin & Arne Næss, the poetry of Matsuo Bashō and life in rural Japan. We live in a time that is out of balance, one where we are waging war against nature. In the passive expression of this war, we disconnect ourselves from our environment. We build temples and lives made of concrete, steel & pavement. We gaze at nature in envy and wonder why we are unhappy. In the active expression, we burn and melt our world and casually condemn the existence of millions of plants, animals and people to certain doom. We have lost our equilibrium. We are bent out of shape from society’s pliers. We must return to the Inaka.
